I've already seen Pet Sematary
I first saw in 1989. Have it on DVD. No need to see a carbon copy.

shareGood thing this is not at all a carbon copy, huh?
sharei never watched it, but i think it's on amazon prime so i may give it a go
sharethat's the problem with remakes, i mean we've already seen it, so why make it again? beyond retarded when a classic film like pet sematary gets remade. this film from 1989 is a perfect horror film and it's one of the best horror films ever made, so there's no need to remake it.
there should have to be a reason to remake a film, modernizing the special effects, changing the story, get better acting, directing, something, but there's no reason to remake this film because there's no need to give it better or modernized special effects. and actually making the se modernized would work against this movie as you don't want it to look like the matrix, you have to use makeup effects.
I’m not saying every film should be remade.....but the general anti-remake attitude perplexes me.......no one gets this mad when they stage another Macbeth.
sharebecause shakespear's plays have been remade so many times that it's a mute and invalid point to complain about a remake to any of his popular plays.
shareHey Luke....it’s a “moot” point.
But seriously, my main point is that just because I saw Les Mis on Broadway in 1990 doesn’t mean that 25 years later I might not want to see a different production of it with different actors just to see how they do it.
And for good or bad, newer generations just aren’t as likely to watch older movies....I love the book The Great Gatsby and Robert Redford....so I love the 70s movie version....but I would never be able to get my nieces born in the 2000s to watch that with me. I could likely get them to give the DiCaprio version a shot, so I don’t mind that it exists.
fuck you
shareAnd honestly what's the big deal? If you don't like it, don't see it. If you don't like it, don't think about it. I'm a big horror fan. I forget that the Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street remakes exist all the time. Every time I see them come up it's like an "oh yeah, that's a thing" thought, and then I don't ever think of them again. It's not hard. Also there's the idea that the existence of a remake ruins what the original is, and that's one of the most ridiculous thoughts ever when it comes to movies. The original is still exactly what it was before.
shareAnd it was just that...a carbon copy. I watched them in reverse order and couldn't stop saying how they were exactly the same, down to the lines almost. Things didn't get different until the final act, which were both equally as disappointing.
shareI didn't want a carbon copy either and thankfully that's not what it was. It feels like it's own movie and it's good.
