Will it be rated PG like the other Pee-wee films?

Apatow's involvement in Big Holiday is what worries me.... All of his movies are R-rated, vulgar, crappy comedies. I really hope that Big Holiday recaptures the magic of Big Adventure and is both hilarious and family friendly.

Welcome to Fright Night....for real. 

Don't worry, I doubt he will even be very creatively involved in a Netflix film that isn't really his own. This is Paul Reubens' baby all the way.

You're forgetting the movie heavyweights that was produced by apatow in the 90s.

Actually, from what I've read, it seems that the basic premise of the movie was Judd Apatow's idea. Paul Reubens wanted to do a Playhouse movie and a darker Valley of the Dolls-inspired movie, and then Apatow approached him about producing his movie, but suggested something more akin to Big Adventure(road trip movie with Pee-wee meeting zany characters along the way).

It won't be rated R. The script i read is pretty innocent. It has the feel of Big Adventure, but the tone of Big Top Pee Wee.

Cash grab.....

Don't think that's how Netflix works. I'm pretty sure it works like, Netflix pays for a movie, puts it on their site, and thats it. They don't make money directly from that movie, they make money from subscriptions, and to keep subscriptions, they have to keep adding good content.

Paul Reubens has been trying to get a Pee-wee movie made since the late 90s. I think if he were only interested in a cash grab, he would have just moved on after so many years of unsuccessful attempts. Also, Judd Apatow wanted to produce it because he's a fan of the character.

I believe it's listed as PG on Netflix.

Boy, you guys clearly haven't seen the original Pee-Wee Herman stuff with Phil Hartman
