Why This movie wont be made.

This movie will not be made for SO many reasons. If you polled 100 children under the age of 14, how many of them would actually know who Pee wee is? The show is not on TV anymore. You some times catch the movies on cable, but most kids would rather watch something else. When I tried to get my sister to watch it when she was younger, she was totally uninterested. And it's not just my sister. There is a whole generation of kids out there who have no idea about this show, or what it meant for popular culture back in the day. The hardest part about selling this movie, is convincing studio heads that anybody who wasn't around when the show was first aired is going to pay $10 to see it.

Paul Reubens has had nothing to do but work on Pee-Wee scripts for many years. He's got 2 that have been said to be pretty good actually, i can't wait to see what's been done!

reply

actually, most other kids I know know what it is. (I'm 14) They saw the movie or the show while it was on adult swim...
when I was little the movie was my favorite
but I think it won't be made, Paul Ruebens did an interview recently that's on youtube and he said when he said in interviews that he was making a movie he was joking... also a lot of people think he's creepy now... :( he lost a lot of his old fans I think

reply

Didnt he have help writing Big Adventure anyway?

reply

The only problem I have with this is in 2009 Paul Reubens will be 57 years old. I would still love to see it. Too bad they waited so long.

reply

why do you think you know what you're talking about?

did you do any actual research?

you're obviously not the audience..

reply

I was born in 1990 and I would pay to watch it

Who Is Driving?! Oh No! Bear! Bear Is Driving! How Can That Be??!!

reply

I'm 16 and I would definitely watch it and so would my 13 year old sister and one of her friends. I mean, come on, everyone loves Pee Wee Herman!!

reply

I disagree with Gympie14. I will see it opening day for sure, and all my friends are avid pee wee lovers as well. My 12 year old cousin also watches pee wee all the time.

reply

you do know that cartoon network has been playing old re runs of pee wee's playhouse right?

reply

You are very wrong about todays kids. My 11, 7, 5, and 3 year old, absolutely LOVE Pee Wee. My 5 year old even does a dead on imitation of him, to the point that we had to have his school pictures done because he did the "PeeWee face" for his pictures. His show was the best kids show I have ever seen, and it was never missed when it was on Cartoon Network. My 5 year old mourned when they quit showing it. I bought him the boxed set of the first part of the series and he has asked for the rest of it for this one.
I still stop and laugh when my kids are watching the show and imitating him. My 11 year old is starting to get some of the adult humor from the show, and even he doesnt mind watching the videos for the 50th or 100th time.
When you have parents scouring ebay and other web sites loooking for Chairy and PeeWee dolls, you have to know that the guy is a legend. I will be there opening day with all my kids to see this movie, even though the trip will cost me over $100!

Someone needs to let Paul Reubens know how people feel about Pee-wee. I guess it's not really Paul that needs to know though... it's the studios. This movie NEEDS to be made!

I know you are, but what am I?

I was in my 20's when I watched Pee-Wee's Playhouse back in the 80's! I couldn't count how many times I've watched Big Adventure. My daughter, who is almost 20, loved the movie, too! I can still remember her breaking my VCR when she was little, rewinding the "biker" scene over and over again, where Pee-Wee flies off of his "hog" and falls through the sign. She laughed so hard! I had to take the VCR into the shop to replace the motor AND remove the rented video so I could return it! Of course, I own it now! LOL! I found a website that pointed out the "bloopers" in the movie. When I watched it again after that, I couldn't believe I had never seen them before! Anyway, I, too, will be in line to see a new Pee-Wee movie, along with my daughters and one of my good friends! I believe the first fans of Pee-Wee have passed it on to their own kids!

"[Pee-wee walks into a noisy biker bar to use a pay-phone]
Pee-wee: Shhhhhhhh! I'm trying to use the phone!
Biker #1: Did anybody tell you that this is the private club of the Satan's Helpers?
Pee-wee: Nobody "hipped" me to that, dude.

Biker #2: I say we kill him!
Biker Gang: [shouts] Yeah!
Biker #3: I say we hang him, then we kill him!
Biker Gang: [shouts] Yeah!
Biker #4: I say we scalp him!
Biker Gang: [shouts] Yeah!
Biker #4: Then we tattoo him!
Biker Gang: [shouts] Yeah!
Biker #4: Then we hang him!
Biker Gang: [shouts] Yeah!
Biker #4: And then we kill him!
Biker Gang: [shouts] Yeah!
Pee-wee: [trying to throw voice without moving lips] I say we let him go.
Biker Gang: [shouts] No!
Biker Mama (Elvira): [whistles] I say you let me have him first
Biker Gang: Yeah!"

25 year old female and I plan on seeing this movie. Hey, if they can make an Alvin and the chipmonks movie they can make a peewee movie. Today's kids don't know anything about alvin either.

reply

Yeah, but it's actually funny

reply

Just curious, but who else will be watching this movie when it comes out?
