Watching the third season

For the first time I struggled to get through an episode, Frances' second week. I just didn't care about what she was saying. I guess part of the problem is that the reason she came to Paul wasn't that interesting, an actor who's forgetting her lines.

I loved the first two seasons so it's sad to see that the third season seems to be the worst. Still it's unfortunate that there won't be a fourth season.

The Frances thread will get more involved. As usual, there are hidden motivations behind all the clients' storylines (there's a big twist to Sunil's at the end). But I think you'll find this season is really all about Paul Weston as reflected in this season's clients. Weston is doing a crappy job as a therapist and he'll have to come to terms with this.

It was time for the series to end.

I see you wrote this last year … did you finish the 3rd season and do you still think that?

I think the 3rd season was the best one because it is the most human and honest. Frances typefies a very superficial type of extrovert. She is so outwardly oriented always talking about what people must think of her, and her profession is one of controlled and even trained actions that are scripted by professionals to make her loved by the audience. There is a lot to Frances' character, plus she is played expertly by Debra Winger, which I found amazing.

Is there not going to be a fourth season? Oh no, everything I like, the more I like it the more likely it is to get cancelled. :-(

I missed an episode or two when it aired on tv, so I decided to watch the rest of the season on dvd. Haven't done that yet as I'm waiting to get it for cheap and I'm in no hurry as I've got tons of shows to watch. When I do finally watch it I'll share my reactions here.

Haven't heard anything about a fourth season, unfortunately.
