BIG question about Alex (spoilers)
So I have a question. Simple and to the point, did Alex have a bisexual/gay side? It was hinted at a few times, by him and his father even, though just a little. Anyone have an opinion about this?

shareAlex did question his sexuality, but honestly I don't know if he was. I think a part of him was jealous that his gay friend seemed to have a happier life and I think he thought if he was gay then that might actually make him feel better about himself and his own life.
shareAlex was gay. He was essentially of the cusp of coming out, facing that, when he took the military option instead and used that as a means to, ugh, “resolve” matters. It wasn’t subtle. From his friends to lack of performance with Laura to lots of other little things. I guess it doesn’t seem like a big deal for us, but his father was “be strong!” and being gay where his father grew up....well, yeah. BTW the father hinted that Alex’s grandfather was gay. Not in so many words, but the father seemed to know Alex’s orientation maybe based on growing up with Alex’s grandfather (and over compensating in the macho department because of it).
