1st Season: Laura us annoying
Just find her irksome. My favorite patient this season is Sophie.

shareLaura is an unrelentingly unpleasant character.
shareLaura was awesome,
People hating on her must be jealous?
Although she does display some BPD-esq traits, which tend to be loathsome for neurotypicals.
Humans are flawed intrinsically. A non flawed individual wouldn't be in therapy, now would they?
I also think she does a fantastic job at portraying the issue of erotic transference in the therapy room.
I agree she's by far my least fave character in the first season.
It's not about "jealousy" either lol far from it I think she had a stupid looking mouth, annoying, trying-way-too-hard sounding voice and just does not come across like she's a very nice person in real life either. The world needs a lot less women who are anything like her in any way. They need to just get lost, and definitely get off of tv & movies already.

I just started watching Season 1 and I agree, Laura is my least favorite. Halfway through I started skipping Laura, Alex & Paul's therapy sessions with Dianne Weiss. I really dislike Paul in every way possible. Sophie is my fav too, along with the fighting pregnant couple.
shareI just started watching and am halfway through season 1.
I like the Laura character...the way she acts out sexually is based on the way she was trained early on to see her value as a person. I get that.
Laura is "beautiful" so that could create a bias in some people.
Eventually I found all the sessions with everyone interesting...even if they didn't seem my "favorites" at first. It seemed that one needed to watch all the sessions with everyone to get the full picture.
Everyone could be exasperating at certain points and unbelievably rude and arrogant....certainly so could Sophie.
If all patients were so high maintenance it would make for a difficult job. This doesn't make analysis look very appealing at all.
The sessions I wrestled with the most were the couple...or the wife in particular. I waited for her humanity to surface.
