shareyeah its a canadian show. I just had to come here to tell everybody how much the way the woman narrator talks makes me want to put my foot through the television screen. What infuriates me even further is the shows intro where the narrator tells us what they will be showing along with some poorly thought out cheesy "no pun intended" type statement... AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGG!!! Anybody know what im talking about?!

Interesting ... I just watched an episode of this show and it wasn't narrated by a woman at all. Some guy named Brooks (who narrated another Science Channel show I had seen).

shareHe's American, the show's narration is different depending on whether you are watching the original Canadian version (on the air for 8 years now) or the versions produced for the United States or United Kingdom. The scripts have to be altered for the US or UK to remove specific Canadian references and thus, local announcers are hired to re-record the narration (which otherwise is substantially the same).
For the record, there have been five announcers for the Canadian version:
Season 1: Mark Tewksbury (Canadian gold medal Olympic Swimmer
Seasons 2-4: Lynn Herzeg
Season 5: June Wallack
Seasons 6-8: Lynn Adams
Seasons 1-7: Jean-Luc Brassard (Canadian gold medal Freestyle Skier - French version of the series which is no longer being produced)

In the UK, the series is narrated by Tony Hirst. All episodes have been shown in the UK on the UK Discovery Channel.
