Judging by the episode guide on Wikipedia, the show is into it's 8th season...however, I don't think that it has aired season 7 or 8 in the US yet. I haven't missed an episode, so I'm pretty sure it is behind. Can someone confirm?
shareI can't say which "season" we're currently seeing here in the U.S. on The Discovery Channel. The show has only been available here in the U.S. for less than a year, so I'm sure they're not starting at the beginning if it's already in it's eighth season elsewhere. We are most likely seeing the current season's programs.
I can watch How It's Made off of satellite, and the online guide says that the episodes we are watching now were first shown in the 2004-2005 time frame. I don't know for sure if that's when they were shown in Canada, or the first time they were shown on the Discovery Science Channel. I do know that I have seen almost all of the ones they show on the Discovery Channel.
shareIt's weird. When this first started airing on Discovery, Tivo info said the episodes were from 2001 and 2002. Now a lot of those same episodes say 2007. They're mixed in with obviously newer episodes which I'm guessing *are* from 2007.

shareI try to watch this show daily, or at least listen to it. I've noticed that they normally skip around and show an episode from one season, then show one from another season next, and so-on.
I think this is pretty cool.
