I watched this DVD last night and marveled at the stunning imagery and fantastic DVD transfer (looked better than broadcast HD on my upscaling DVD player) but was amazed by how lousy the film was. Not a total failure but not very good IMO.

shareIts cliched and tiresome because you saw it in sin city and thats it. I have yet to see this in any other film. The sin city effect has yet to get old or cliche simply because no one else has used it(unlike bullet time)
shareIt's not because I saw it in Sin City. It's because I think the whole imagery of the film is overdone, clichéd and not nearly as fun as it wants to be.

Like I wasn't keen on The Village or The Happening, but I LOVE the score to those films.

sharei think renegade(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0276830/)is the all time best looking bad movie, the atmosphere is always very impressive but they also mix in acid trip scenes that can last around ten minutes that's like watching a magic eye puzzle melting into itself like a mobius strip that feel like your being brainwashed. But most of it is very neat to watch.

The best looking "bad movie" ever? Perhaps. If you enjoyed it on DVD, wait to see it on Blu-ray. I wouldn't suggest a buy but a rent surely. It looks stunning and sounds terrific.
5 out of 5 stars in terms of PQ and AQ. Too bad the story is so cheesy.
Yeah... visuals were mostly awesome, sound mixing was superb... dialogue was trite and performances were alternatingly wooden or over the top with nothing in between.

Best looking movie that actually sucks? Probably the anti-drug music video PSA (and POS) Requiem for a Dream. Stunning visuals and an amazing soundtrack but the acting was atrocious, the story was boring and predictable, and the whole thing felt like a tired and silly, overdone and ridiculous cliche. It sure looks pretty though.
I also find the Lord of the Rings films boring as hell but their epic scope is beautiful.
