The Spirit was stylized & gorgeous - but many thought the film wasn't solid!

Is The Spirit great or is it lacking substance??
He has some extremely valid points on the pizza-and-chocolate mix.
Especially when a lot of the chocolate was the Sin City-style visual effects, which imho just doesn't work with the Spirit universe.
But what really ruined it for me was the chocking lack of resemblance to the comic.... oh, so now he enjoys running across rooftops and can somersault UP A VERTICAL WALL????
It is lacking substance. It is gorgeous, but the plot is a big mess that can't decide whether it's a comedy or a noir, so it tries to be both and fails.
Also it is lecherous.
