I am probably not the first to think this, but Bruce Campbell of 20-25 years ago would have been the perfect Denny Colt/Spirit. His looks and persona would be an ideal match.

As much as I love the character, I thought this movie version was a disaster.

YES! Yes, Bruce would have been a wonderful choice, would have given Denny Colt some cleverness.

Excellent thought - and Campbell is one of the few actors that can fit right in to this comic-booky style without it seeming forced.
