For those who havent heard, before this was even made Brad Bird{Iron giant} was planning on doing an animated film of The Spirit. As much as I find miller's film on the spirit is somewhat decent...I think Brad Bird would have done justice to the comic.

You are possibly correct that the animated version would have been better but they came up with the way that they wanted to do it. I felt it was good enough for me and I liked it.

The only thing that we can do is wait and see on what happens.

Brad Bird can still make his version!!! Nobody's gonna remember this pile of debris!
Brad Bird, Toulous Latrec, a 5 year old with a magic marker...anybody! Just rub out this travesty by making a legit Eisner-esque version.
Indeed it would have, God, how I wish I lived in a world where that film had happened instead of this...
