'Octopus, you give me a headache'- was this supposed to be funny?

I cried my eyes out laughing in that scene. Just the whole thing with Spirit coming out of the water and Octopus hitting him on the head and then Spirit telling him that he gave him a headache. This was either really bad scripting or did i miss something about this scene?

Yes, it's supposed to be funny. I'm finding this really wierd. Most of the complaints about the movie seem to be that it made viewers laugh. It was supposed to.

theres laughing with something and then laughing at something.. most people laughed not because it was actaully funny but because it was ridiculous.. like the whole Octopus japanese scene thing. Completely absurd and i laughed because it was really stupid. i doubt that was the point too.

It was an awkward line in an awkward fight in an awkward movie, that I kinda like and defend but yeah. THat just didn't work.

Though I did like that the fight involves a toilet and THEN the kitchen sink. So the fight had everything AND the kitchen sink.

Yes, I think it was meant to be funny, but it's not funny. It's like something a kid would think is a witty one liner.

And that is basically the syndrome of the entire movie. Frank millers mind is mush.
