the movie did horrible at the box office but it makes me wonder, What did Frank Miller thought about all of this? Makes me wonder what he said or how he felt about his directing debut being so badly received. Did he ever said anything?
Mad..mad you say. I'm not mad, not according to my City . My City she loves me, she is good to me. My City feeds me, comforts me and according to the Spirit it takes me for walks and tells me bedtime stories if I'm a good little vigilante. ------------- In a fair universe, we would all be better people.
Now walk back inside with the nice men in white coats and they'll give you some cookies and milk before you have a long and much needed rest. The might even put The Spirit on television for you.
Acutally point of fact there was a Spirit pilot with the guy from Flash Gordon . It also had Ebony White but a more updated version of it. I saw it once on TV. It actually was pretty good if a touch Campy but it was the 90s after all.
He wasn't immortal but did survive near death.
Not bad at all.
No Octopus , I think that was a seductive Criminal mastermind and the Spirit had this cool hideout in the graveyard.
And yes , he lacked a borderline sexual fetish for his City.
