This movie was a success at the box office.

Not a flop like some of you might believe. The budget of the movie was only $70 million and it made $215.5 million worldwide. This means there's a big chance we'll get a sequel (for those of us who liked the movie). The way the movie ended they just have to make a sequel with the awesome Charles Dance.

Amen. I don't get the negativity? It has an original storyline, effects are great and it did well in the boxoffice, like the topicstarter said. I'm hoping for a sequel. Very enjoyable movie!

reply

totally agree with you this movie was a huge success and i personally liked it very much. and this comes from a guy who read everything about vlad the impaler. cant wait for the sequel
I'm Driving on the Grim Reaper Highway, no regrets i do it my way

reply

Needing the foreign box office to save it doesn't exactly guarantee a sequel.

reply

You do realize that the US isn't the only movie market right?

reply

Awwww don't pop his delusional bubble. In his world only 'Murica matters.

reply

Not a delusional bubble just stating fact. Name a movie that got a sequel, even though it tanked in the domestic location of its distributor? Do people really need another Resident Evil franchise?

reply

It will get a sequel but not because the box office mandated it. Its because Universal has a hard on for a shared monster universe. When their new Mummy movie tanks then you can say I told you so.

reply

Is the Mummy the next movie in this series? Do you have a link to any news reports? Is there a target release date yet? Any idea of the working title?

Highlander

Yeah, I know it's only one example... but it's a good example.

reply

The point being when its done it tends to spawn unworthy franchises when it shouldn't get any.

reply

True.

reply

PACIFIC RIM..... did pretty horribly in the USA, didn't make up it's production marketing costs back but overseas it did a killing and became profitable and it now filming for a sequel

-things I write on IMDB may come from my blog

reply

Again spawning an unworthy franchise.

reply

pacific rim was awesome
you are dumb

reply

If it made that much on such a small budget then it definitely was successful. I personally don't want a sequel because a) I hate them and b) what more can they talk about? Dracula's reaction to the book?

Superman & Wonder Woman

reply

That's why the sequel just got cancelled, because it was so awesome.

reply

it didn't even get cancelled, they are just going to release pitch perfect first. they are still going ahead with it, just not right now.

check your sources dumb dumb
