Is this still part of the Universal Monsters Universe?

I hope Universal doesn't make yet another reboot of Dracula so soon, like it's doing with the Wolf Man.

I don't mind seeing another adaptation but one that's faithful to the book. they could even do Stokers story say for the first hour and a half and then have a new continuation of the story so the film has something new.

not interested in a modernised version or something that ties in with the new modernised Mummy with Tom bloody Cruise though. that sounds awful.

I'm pretty sure it still is. That was their intention with the whole modern day ending.

I Thi k that was just trying to set up for a sequel which there won't be due to mediocre box office. A Universal monster movie sounds retarded.

Yeah, I agree. I'm still hoping this is part of the now, uncertain-to-be-made, reboot of the Universal Monster's franchise.

It better be, Luke Evans made for a pretty good Dracula that can work as the leader of the Monster Verse.

I don't think the idea of a "Universal Monster Universe" is a bad one, but I'm skeptical about the execution. The problem is that no one has ever been able to match the gothic majesty of those old black and white films (IMO). You might argue that the Universal Monster Universe has already been done, and it's unlikely that it will ever be done that well again.

I don't think that one is. it was supposed to start with Dracula Untold after the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I was thinking about this today! Are people gonna remember Dracula Untold? if i recall, this movie was only a "marginal" hit and they SURE are taking their time continuing the Universal Monsters Universe films. There was even a Victor Frankenstein movie made in between....could confuse the masses.

I really do hope the Mummy reboot works out and somehow fits well with the end of Dracula Untold.

Even so, Luke Evans is a rising star and has increasingly been cast in more high profile films. He's even in the live action adaptation of Beauty and Beast. Plus he's not exactly box office poison.

If impersonating a Police Officer is an offence, shouldn't actors be imprisoned?

I dont know if this rumor even still exists but I know there was mutterings that at the end of all these umcu movies there was to be a new or remake monster squad with luke evans still as the role of dracula anybody heard any further about this?
