WHY would Sara take Vannacutt's journal?

I haven't seen the beginning of the movie but this implies that Sara actually went BACK into the Vannacutt asylum, WHY would she? After everything she went through the first time and we know she didn't have it with her when she and Eddie got out at the end of the first movie, why would she EVER go back there? And why would she take his journal?

reply

Because they needed a sorry excuse to milk the first movie's story for more money... and did it poorly i might add.

Poorly is an understatement for the century. Every single aspect of this movie is a tragedy in the greatest sense of the word, and to think people consider THIS movie worthy of a sequel. WHY? THIS one was pure and utter TRASH, FILTH, GARBAGE, not one single good piece to the whole film!

The subtitle file doesn't explain why Sara went back to retrieve the journal. It only makes a reference to Sara being "ready to face her demons." According to the text, the journal was useful for revealing that the statue was somewhere in the house. Also not sure why Sara would know anything about the journal or statue in the first place.

00:10:36,454 --> 00:10:40,457
According to Dr. Vannacutt's journal,
the statue is here in Los Angeles...

00:10:40,625 --> 00:10:42,876
...inside the hill house.

00:10:49,008 --> 00:10:52,427
Sara would never go back to that house,
she was terrified of it.

00:10:55,556 --> 00:10:59,184
HAMMER: You're right.
Sara was afraid of the house.

00:10:59,352 --> 00:11:01,311
But she was ready to face her demons.
