As time goes on are we growing dumber?

Kill off the nameless goons first : check
Kill off the old and ugly important characters next : check
Let the lead hot and smart actress and her hero survive : check

The pool scene was ridiculous, they grabbed her but let her go and then took down the other ugly important character. That besides the rest of the magical storyline : This movie can be figured out halfway through because of its cliche's (by the time all the goons are the first one to go you just KNOW for sure the girl is going to live through it all and whoever sticks close to her).

What surprises me is the original (remake) came out what 10 years before this one? And was actually very interesting to watch. Way better dialogue, each character was interesting and you actually felt something for each one of them. Geoffrey Rush that made it so twice as awesome and no way could you have figured who was going to die next.


I thought as time goes on we'd be making smarter/less predicable movies..
