Did anyone else notice...

First- in both this and the 1999 version of House on Haunted Hill, the levels of the mansion that were used for the institution really in no way look like they were even touched by the fire that supposedly destroyed the building. In HoHH the caretaker(played by Chris Kattan) mentions that the upper levels were being restored, and that was how his father died, but that the lower levels hadn't been touched at all.

Second- The asylum levels in Return... are totally different than the asylum levels in the first one? In the first one, there is that main staircase into the lower levels with the display cases that house the skeletons, the electroshock room, and the tank that they look Price into. But in Return none of these room seem to exist, but there is a huge Hydrotherapy room, creamatorium, and a shower room.

*It was nice that they used the same dining room, complete with the broken glass from when the overhead window broke during Mrs. Price's party.

I remember Pritchard said the place was being restored but I don't recall if he said which parts of it were. But I agree, NOTHING from the first movie is in this movie and this movie is full of crap that doesn't belong in the asylum.

Also, what was with the outside of the house? It's been a while since I watched HoHH so I can't be sure, but was it always such a cheap cgi render? I swear it looked much more believable in HoHH, and I also thought that it was more art-deco.

well this is a DTV movie so that explains the cheap CGI. since the first was a full blown theatrical release, i'm pretty sure the first movie used a miniature and/or an actual building they made if not found.
