...this one was at least better than expected. Granted, that may be the only reason I enjoyed it. I expected the usual stupidity that goes with these sequels. But it had a story. And while not at all scary, at least it was atmospheric and creepy. The jumps were effective. Gory enough but not over the top, and the acting really was descent. Not a masterpiece by any stretch, but pretty good for what it was.
Story? What story? Oh Vannacutt wasn't REALLY an insane psychopath with a tendency to vivisect people, this little tiny statue made him do it, and all these idiots gather to the 'house' to form a scavenger hunt for it so they can be rich, except the ghosts, who want the evil removed from the house, kill everybody before they can get to it.
Oh, I didn't say it was MUCH of a story, but at least the filmmakers TRIED to explain the actions. Many movies nowadays provide very little explanation as to why anyone is doing anything. This may have been a lame effort, but an effort nonetheless. Like I said I just enjoyed if for what it was. A crappy movie that was at least fun to watch,
I have to say it was pretty good, I think the first one was scarier with the way people died but this one had a pretty good story. Plus in this one there was no sense that psycho Dr. V won.
