The Killing and Twin Peaks? SPOILER ALERT

Purchased all 3 seasons and I have started to watch this series and was finished viewing episode 5. I find there are similarities between this show and Twin Peaks. Below are examples.

-Victim is a young girl. The mystery evolves around the young girl.
-It involves a high school.
-The Killing involves city politics. Twin Peaks involves local city politics.

Those are what I've noticed so far.

Am I wrong? I hope I'm wrong. I want this show to be unique.

Yeah it definitely reminded me of Twin Peaks, the girl (Nanna) doesn't look unlike Laura Palmer. They're both secretive too and the ending credits remind me a lot of the twin peaks credits. They're not the same though however posting this over a year ago I'm sure you know :)

Yeah the basic premise is the same, but The Killing doesn't descend into Black Lodge / psoeession by evil demons territory, or anything else that's supernatural

Twin Peaks moved too slow to keep my interest. I gave up after a few episodes. I love most David Lynch movies. I am watching this, and it's good.
