Is this based of the manga Priest?
There is this awesome manga about this preacher killing daemons and rogue angels in the old west.
Does this film have any connection to that or is it just a coincidence?

It's very poorly based off of the manga. Yet another movie where Hollywood ruins something from another country.
shareNot really, no. They only share the title, and none of the plot. I know that the creator of the manga was involved in the process of creating a more western Priest comic, and so I'd imagine they at least consulted him. I'd love to hear what his thoughts on the adaptation are, but they probably cashed him out to the point where he'd only praise it. Kudos for him though, considering it was his first manwha and its one of the few that are fairly popular in the US.
shareThey literally used almost nothing from the manga. They based the whole movie on a tiny, tiny sliver. It shouldn't even have been named after the graphic novel. It's supposed to be about fallen angels. Haven't read it in awhile but if I recall, the creatures were zombies not vampires. Adding vampires has become the quickest way to ruin a horror movie but turn in a quick weekend profit.
shareYes. There's this manga created by Korean comic artists Min-Woo Hyung titled Priest. And there's been talks about adapting this awesome manga into a movie. Sadly the so called 'Priest' movie is too far removed from it's alleged source, and I'm seconding both joe greezy and swinggold comments.
If they don't want to make a real Priest movie, the shouldn't have bothered making this mediocre film...
