Yeah, the 20 seconds he's in this movie is just like the rest of his entire acting career. Or not... It's not like he's being thrust at us as a leading man in everything like a lot of current "comedian/actors" are. In fact, aside from this the only thing I've seen him in is True Blood and an old episode of Midsomer Murders.
Perhaps the casting director had seen his previous TB work, and had a tiny role playing a bit of a redneck, and asked him if he was interested in a couple of days work between TB seasons.
