Don't have the speedo read 250mph and have the bike look like it's maybe doing 80mph.
This visual suckiness (and lack of crediting the audience with any intelligence) ruined the movie for me early on.
On a side note, cool as these bikes may look I wouldn't want to be the human parachute riding one in that position at that speed (assuming really 250mph).
Of all the things like vampires, super human priests, or a church government the fake motorcycles lack of reality bothered you? Time to sit back and remember its only a movie.

shareI agree... I could let it go when it was a long shot and I could force myself to pretend.... but when a super turbine bike going 200mph+ is being easily run down by dirt bikes zigzagging around with upright riders it get ridiculous.
shareOne of the very few things that bothered me in this awesome movie was exactly that.
You see him drive by some huge statues with casual speed, yet he's suppose to be half way to super sonice according to that display. They could at least have run the movie faster there, to make him go faster. ;)

Nothing in the trivia telling us anything about the bikes. I liked the look of them and the conceit of turbine power.
I guess they came from the same SFX stable that created much of the Mad Max machinery - does anybody know more ?
