I mean I did sympathize with the dog and his death made me feel depressed but I was honestly surprised that I did not start bawling or tearing up.
I feel rather strange being the only one who didn't tear up at all but then again I never cried over a film, just only felt my heartstrings getting tugged.
Tbh, the hour and half lead up to the "big cry" is just a terrible film. Maybe had you grown to give a crap about the two annoying leads you could have been more empathetic but these were two mediocre actors who nosy didn't have it in them to make you care about what happens to them, and since the story is told through them the weak script combined with the two leads inability just...doesn't do it for some people.
When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?
Shiza.i nelli, I couldn't disagree with you more. Both these a tors typically annoy me, especially Anniston, but I thought they were both great in this film. And, I liked the film, for what it was, because they were by no means a "perfect couple". The house got a little messy (and VERY messy, sometimes, due to Marley), and I think they had a very natural ease with each other.
And, although I love all animals, I worship CATS, and am actually afraid of dogs....their teeth are menacing. But, I cried like a baby at the end. Even before the end, as you see the dog get old. Simple, but a very sad film at the end. I liked it much more than I thought I would
Ridiculous movie. Apparently writing a column in a local newspaper earns you enough money to buy a country estate in Pennsylvania. Why would we cry over the death of an untrained, unruly dog that any reasonable family would have returned to the breeder?
They complained often that he was misbehaving, so it sure seems reasonable to say he was.
Even if you were to convince me that it does not matter, there are millions of other people you need to also convince. If you could then the movie would be more popular.
