Not only the time period, but many of the situations and much of the dialogue.

I know it isnt so, but it was definitely channeled...lol.

This movie was like IT with the parts with the clown taken out.

So it was pretty horrible.

Rob Reiner made Stand By Me, based on the novel by Stephen King. Rob Reiner also directed this movie, therefore it has a slight Stephen King vibe.
