shareI doubt it. Max Brooks was inspired to write World War Z in the manner of a book recounting the experiences of veterans of World War II, only with zombies instead of Nazis and Japs.
According to Wiki, Zeke was the "Allied code name for the Japanese World War II A6M Zero fighter".
The "crappy" movie you mentioned was probably just using the same military jargon.
They called them "Zack" in the book.
