What illness was the guy whose leg was bugging him suffered from?
Do you remember him? It's the guy who was in Korea and was explaining to Brad how it all started, and then the other guy says how bugged-leg survived even tho he was in the middle but zekes did not attack him?
So he may had bad knee or something, but which terminal illness makes you leg bug?

I think the point was just to show that people who were sick were not considered desirable by the infected.
Probably had some incurable malignant tumor involving his leg such as an osteosarcoma (bone cancer) or rhabdomyosarcoma (muscle cancer).

I think another interesting question is how he could pass the medical with a terminal or chronic condition.
