Autonomous Mission Failure for TARS and CASE
The robots didn't have a handle on time dilation, so probably would've returned to Earth in 1000 years. If they ran low on fuel reserves at any point, the robots would've deemed it pointless to continue the mission.
1) On Miller's Planet, the robots would've become stranded between swells. Perpetually waiting for the engines to drain.
2) In orbit around Mann's Planet, the robots would've let the Endurance burn up and stayed floating in orbit.
3) The Powered Sling Shot. They wouldn't even have considered the possibility as a way of saving fuel to reach another destination. Failure is inevitable at this point.
