The parental content advisory didn't expand on any sort of gruesome images. Is there much blood or gore? Any violence against animals or something similar?

No blood or gore really.
There are some pictures of what is supposed to be the girl's body after about a week in the water. Her skin is medium gray and her face is somewhat deformed. It's actually somewhat disturbing (and I watch a lot of disturbing fiction) and looks very realistic.
