Much Respect

I really have to respect this film for what it was trying to do. Overall, it turned out okay in my opinion but it is great for the genera. Practical make up effects are great and a big reason that most horror sucks these days. American horror has really be in a decline in recent years and hopefully more like this will help stimulate the market.....for my sake.

I agree with ya and for way too long, horror films have been made into Hollywood style films with pure scare tactics ie. loud noises just to *beep* ya up. They just wanna cater for the Friday night couple where the fella takes his girlfriend to watch a horror film at the cinema n she's in there screamin n jumpin with her head in her hands. Then she goes runnin to everyone later sayin' 'Have ya seen that new horror film???? It's well scary!!!' Jeepers Creepers comes to mind, I saw that at the cinema n everyone at the time was sayin how scary it was. I was bored stupid.

...and "Jeepers Creepers 2," "Prom Night," "While She Was Out," "Boogeyman," "Wrong Turn 2," and the list goes on and on and on...

These films are total rubbish and yet people keep going to see them and wonder why Hollywood mass produces this trash. I am hoping "The Unborn," "Uninvited," and "My Bloody Valentine 3-D," offer some originality, but I am feeling a little pessimistic about big budget horror right now.

I agree with the OP, I definitely respect what they accomplished with such a miniscule budget, especially the choice of practical FX over cheap CGI a la SyFy & the hiring of an orchaestra to compose the music!...all on a $2.5 million budget!

Just didn't like it as much as I'd hoped!
