Whatever flames upon the night, mans' own resinous heart has fed
the "Nature" of the black heart? lol
It's nature seemed to go this way;
Make you eat it, possess you, eat lots of food and then turn you into Jabba the Hut.
Then makes you turn teenagers into monsters who then run around and try to eat other people.
Other than that, there wasn't much else to it.
I figure it came from a heavy smoker.

Perhaps it goes a bit more deeper than that. Don't you remember in the story that old guy told the dude on the Dark heart. The Dark Heart is full of evil-evil which is spawned by darkness. Another Idea I have is that wherever that dark heart came from an actual demon-somewhere along the Yokai or a type of demon from Japanese mythology. Somehow the darkness from the heart draws on People's darkest desires deep within their heart or perhaps the darkness twists people's minds thus they consume the heart due to the darkness that possesses them. Soon they undergo a transformation into a demon or a type of monster and signs of transformation is weird behavior, large appetite and also the strange tentacles from the back and side. I dub the monster the professor transformed into an Octopus Swamp demon or simply a Swamp Demon-though it has no legs it uses tentacles to catch its prey and then use its umm injector tongue to inject the darkness from its heart to transform its victims into monsters/demons. And when its hungry it chooses which prey is worthy to eat. The only way to destroy the demon is to destroy its heart.
