Why wasnt Kimberly J. Brown playing Marnie Cromwell?
i mean she's been in the last 3 and she's like the best for the part.

What we have here is an ethical dilemma...
KJB decided (or so she says) not to do H4 because of her movie (don't remember what it was called, started with a B) was filming. Yes there will be a H5 and it's rumored that KJB will play Marnie again. Personally, I think it would be confusing (especially for younger viewers) to bring back KJB as Marnie.

Same here. I'm more used to seeing Sara Paxton with blonde hair with blue streaks from "Aquamarine". Not too fond of her in "Renturn to Halloweentown". Kimberly seemed much better.

Kimberly will NOT be back as Marnie. She's said before that she would not be reprising her role as Marnie in any of the future Halloweentown movies after the 3rd installment

I thought she didn't want to do it because she thought another Halloweentown was stupid, but I think I was wrong. From what I heard she couldn't do it because it conflicted with Big Bad Wolf(another movie she was doing at the time)
sharei don't know any details about anything, but i really really wish that kimberly had played marnie, because now when i watch the 4th movie, it confuses me and i don't think of paxton as marnie, just some new character that they brought into the mix out of no where lol. i hope she comes back!

Either way we know there's a fifth Halloweentown movie and when there's more news on it, I guess we'll find out who plays Marnie and what it will be called.

Same here. I was like "wow Marnie lost weight?" Then in the credits, I realized it wasn't KJB. They "kind of" look a little alike.

And for my two cents. I don't mind Paxton actually... people got mad about it, but in the end I think I was watching Paul and Lucas more than Paxton. So yes, they had a different actor instead of Kim... she wasn't awful, she really wasn't. Different yes, but she was still quirky, which I think everyone really liked about Kim.
So in the end I don't mind if they were to make a fifth movie with Paxton, or Kim... I'd love a fifth movie though. That'd be wonderful.

How do Sara Paxton and Kimberly J. Brown look alike? The only similarities I can come up with off the top of my head is that they've both acted in Canadian shows/movies. And maybe a little facial structure similarity (high cheek bones?), but I don't see how you could confuse the two, because KJB looks like a normal person, and SP looks more like a stick (and yes that could just be her body type). A lot of Sara Paxton's roles have her being the person to laugh at, a lot of her characters were ditzy/mean/stupid (the mermaid role was naive). She just can't play serious characters, and until she can she shouldn't be making any more Halloweentown movies.

I'm honestly okay with it. While I liked KJB better than Sara Paxton, since in the 4th movie they were highlighting the building romance between Ethan and Marnie, I guess Sara was okay. KJB and Lucas wouldn't have too much chemistry in my opinion as an onscreen couple.
