Does anyone actually know why Kimberly never took the role for this movie? It just wasn't the same without her in the movie.

Yes. She wanted to but sadly Disney thought she was too old for the part. She mentioned this on her Facebook page. You are right, it wasn't the same without her. I thought it was a pretty good story but it didn't feel right without her as Marnie.

I don't think that they thought she was too old. KJB STILL looks very young. I think she was scheduled to do another movie, the werewolf one, during the time they planned to film Return and they weren't going to postpone it.

No she was able to do the film. Disney just decided to go another direction. Look her up on YouTube. She did Q & As about this and that was her reasoning.
