What's so special about the Cromwell powers?
I don't get it.
shareThe Cromwells have always been the most powerful magical family, and it's not unreasonable to think that there are spells that only they can perform. The Cromwells created the Gift (power of total dominance), and only the Cromwells could wield and even destroy it. If you recall, witches (probably the most powerful magical beings in that world) can't actually fully control another being, so the fact that the Cromwells managed to create a talisman to give them that exact power is pretty significant.
shareShould the make a prequel to halloweentown or the cromwells?
shareI want them to do a sequel with MORE Cromwells. Like Carol Burnett?
Save Terminator:SCC!!

The fact that they would even try to create an amulet with the power to control others tells me that there were some unsavory ancestors in the Cromwell family (I wonder who created it and why), Splendora (Aggie) said it has been passed down through the family for as long as she can remember but seems to understand that it's not a good "gift"
Also since Splendora was considered the Queen of Halloweentown when Marnie went to see her by everyone, not just the diminion (and the castle is called Cromwell Castle), i think it might be safe to assume that it was the Cromwell family that created Halloweentown to get away from the humans which would make them royalty until Splendora gave it up to become just Aggie Cromwell.
It could have been created for altruistic reasons. Was implied that the Cromwells kind of led/convinced the denizens of Halloweentown to leave Earth for their own realm. I'm sure at the time though there were many that were vocally against this and might have been a few uprisings that needed quelled. The Gift might have been made for them to be able to peacefully calm these rebellions and fights so that people didn't get hurt. It was continued to be worn by the ruling member as a sign of power as well as to help deter any violence.
Though I'm sure there was some abuse of the power as Splendora stated, the power could tempt even the best which to do bad things.
