I watched the scene 4 times and couldn't figure out what happenned.

Hans shot him. - That's why they shot Hans.

I don't know what Hans problem was, but he acted as if he didn't like Pops.

He even said (and sometimes you can't trust sub-title translations), but he said that "I won't miss her and you too" - Not in those exact words, but something like that. - It was like he intended to shot pops.

I don't know if the sub-titles are mis-translated or what though because in an early scene, back when they were fleeing the cops.

The guy told Yas to wait for them and don't move over the phone. - Then she replyed OK, I won't go any where. - Then he replyed "Shut the *Beep* up and do what I say!"

Again, not all in those exact words, but that's how it was translated in the sub-titles which doesn't make sense to me because she sounded like she already agreed to sit there and wait like he said - So why would he respond as if she wasn't listening to him?

Overall - the movie had some unexplained behavior throughout, but I just enjoyed it for what it was.

I also think Hans hated Pops because of all the children of his and that girls that he had rejected and cast aside, so that might be another reason he hated him. But you could totally see all the fueds brewing within the family, and the second they all had guns, I knew some grudges were going to be served...

I think Hans was jealous of Pops' faster metabolism, there...

it was definitely hans who shot the father. he was the only one who kept his gun on him and yas, even when everyone else was yelling at him to lower his weapon. Karl aimed his gun toward hans because hans wouldnt lower his. we can see that there is a LOT of family fueding going on here, and they were especially pissed since he just declared Karl as the new head. You can tell just by looking at him that hans is the type that the rest of family have pissed on his entire life...so he just reached his boiling point and saw his opportunity. of course he was immediately shot then, but hey he mustve thought it was worth it

There are too many mediocre things in life to deal with. Love shouldn't be one of them.

I thought it was Hans to. There was a lot tension between the father and Goetz and Hans but mostly jealousy...of Karl that it. The father did seem to favor him more.

I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

The fatso did it, but I don't get either why he shot his Nazi Daddy. It's not clear why, although perhaps Hans hated his papa because the old man wanted to kill his deformed and retarded kids. That's the only logical explanation I'd find.

There seemed to be some resentment boiling in that dinner scene before the violence broke out. Father also called Karl "the only son I am proud of."

"Passion is just insanity in a cashmere sweater!"

No offense, but how did you manage to watch it multiple times and not realize that Hans shot Papa? It was VERY obvious - hell, it actually showed Hans shoot Papa on the screen. No mystery, confusion, or anything... wow people...
