Terrible Oscar bait garbage

Awful film made only to win Will Smith and the producers some Oscars. The script is absolutely cheesy and overly written, the direction is laughably melodramatic, and Smith trying so hard to land an Oscar nomination gets tiring almost instantly. It’s a manipulative piece of trash that feels like it was made by aliens who have no understanding of depression.

The jellyfish suicide is also so unbelievably stupid. You can tell the filmmakers thought it was SOOO poetic and clever, but it really makes no sense. He’s trying to harvest his organs for people who need them, but he poisons his entire body and in real life makes his organs completely unusable. But the filmmakers were clearly going “genius! This will make people cry and we will win Oscars!” especially with the swooning dramatic music playing over his echoed yells.
