What the F. is wrong with those critics? Were they high when reviewed it?

reply

It's a powerful, tear-jerking movie with a great cast. That's why it received high marks from the viewers. Critics, however are trained to see beyond this, and beyond this lie a lot of mistakes and flaws that make this movie deserve a lower score then the viewers gave it. I'm not sure it deserved as little as critics gave it but it surely isn't a 7.5 movie, not by a mile.

I totally agre, critics have made me furious in the past. I'd be curious to hear their critique. I saw nothing at all to criticize!! It was incredible.

Second shameless plug I've seen for this "reviewer"

They probably weren't high when they reviewed it. They were most likely sober and simply saw it differently from you. They saw certain details of the movie in ways you didn't, in ways you never thought others could think, and simply didn't like the movie as a result. It's got nothing to do with them being dumb.

It's because Will Smith is terrible in this, and the screenplay is cliche and cheap. The only goal this movie had was to win Will an Oscar, and they thought they'd accomplish that just by making everything very pointlessly melancholy. Smith killing himself via jellyfish is *beep* stupid, as the poison from a jellyfish sting would contaminate all of the organs he'd be trying to donate, thus rendering his entire plan, and this entire film, pointless. He should've just shot himself; quick, painless, and saves all the organs from damage, except for maybe his eyes. Stinging himself with jellyfish is literally the worst thing he could've done, because he suffered horribly for minutes and completely ruined all of his chances of being an organ donor. But no, the writers thought that a jellyfish death would be poetic and symbolic for something, and the writers thought watching his muted screams in agony underneath dramatic music would win him an Oscar.

The average movie goer likes this film because they don't analyze or perceive film on anything more than a basic level, as the first replier to this post said.
