I know its shocking!!
Sadly the BBC have kopped out. Apparantly because it appeals only to the working classes and over forties so its not being re-commisioned! How very wrong they are!!! And even if it did what outragous snobbery. Its not about making great television{the reason we pay our license} Its about making more money sadly we will only have the usual austen dross. No grit no pearl I say.
Its such a shame!! However Lilies is a beautiful work of art and wont be forgotten!!
And I am sure everyone involved will go on to do great things.
Shame on you BBC!!

These are execs involved with making and commissioning drama at BBC1.
This is a ludicrous, misguided and grossly unfair decision in view of the lack of commitment the BBC ever demonstrated towards what has been one of their finest and most refreshing dramas - and yes, I agree, there is something a bit smug and middle-class about this decision too. Or perhaps Lilies was too female-centric? Not enough 'boysie' stuff, to suit the cool, 'youth' market the BBC desperately wants to pander to. It's pretty sickening.
Particularly when you see the hundreds of messages on the Lilies BBC website demanding a second series. The BBC has lost touch with its license-fee payers.

there might be a second series as the dvd says 'the complete FIRST series' usually shows that only have one series say 'The complete series'
shareGlad to see the campaign to get a second series of Lilies has even reached IMDb! Keep pestering folks - hopefully we can change their minds. I live in hope!
shareI'm not to far from Hope, it's called Fat Chance.

I feel the same, but I am so pissed off with the BBC's patronising behaviour towards those who have complained and PRAISED the show too, I feel more folks need to know about it.
