When Lily attempted to see a few doctor, there is this doctor who make a quick note and later on... Lily escaped after reading the note.
What does it say???
That they want to lock him up for acts of perversion

When Einar is in the hospital talking to the doctor who excuses himself, he waits until the doctor leaves to read his clipboard. Scribbled in all caps near the bottom is the word schizophrenic. That's why Einar left through the window and the doctor walked back to his office with two other employees and a straight jacket.
As for the note that Gerda receives, the doctor who performed radiation treatment on Einar (though I could have the wrong doctor) diagnosed him as being sexually perverse or having sexual perversions. This is why Gerda became upset and insisted they leave, since Einar likely would have been admitted to a psychiatric ward much like the previous doctor intended.
