Even if it was the very first trans story, why do we always have to highlight the most tragic things that happen to trans women? even the book had me like, REALLY? MORE *beep* PAIN?... We need major films that portray trans women as powerful, succesful human beings.

I agree, women are commenly known for being weaker. But they can be very powerful and strong human beings. Movies like Alien showed us that a woman can carry a film and the film extrodinary epic. Without using pain as a lame excuse.
