It's called suspension of disbelief. At least be glad they didn't speak English with a Danish accent, which would have been far more annoying imho.

Just because Americans don't speak a lot of languages doesn't mean we Europeans don't. I was taught English, French and German in highschool. And my own language Dutch of course. I doubt it is any different for Danish people (learning at least 2 foreign languages spoken in Europe). We can go on holiday to every country, speak English whether we are from Spain, Greece. And still understand each other. How cosy is that? When I go to France I will try my best French..in Germany I speak German.
heck, we Dutchies even approach foreigners from those countries in their own language because we don't expect to understand Dutch. Belgium speaks the same language as us but with different accent and also some different words. Which we find amusing and even trying to imitate them.
That being said... Did you expect the actors to learn Danish? Or even worse...speak in their own American accent?
I saw the film yesterday and it struck me how every actor spoke with decent British accents. It was very well done.

She has a slight twist when she affects an English accent which I find strangely charming. It's the same as when she played Vera in Testament of Youth (an English woman). Similarly Matthias Schoenaerts has a bit of that (also noticeable when playing an English man in Far From the Madding Crowd). Sometimes when foreign actors put on English accents they get a bit of a European twist which either works or it doesn't (I watched a few early episodes of The Fall recently and Gillian Anderson's English accent is a little distracting and unnatural for that reason, though it might improve for all I know).
