Why was Lili crying and panicky? I missed what she said after the Dr said she was given plenty of morphine.

She was in a lot of pain, unsurprisingly.

My guess is immediate regret due to pain. I base that on my own experience with knee replacement surgery. I was completely prepared for it but awoke after surgery in severe pain and crying uncontrollably asking myself why I had done this. Some pain medication and a little time and it all passed.

The pain of having the penis and testicles removed or altered would be very severe. Upon waking, the intense pain and inflammation must have been excruciating and worrisome in a fragile state. In general, feelings of high anxiety/panic and irritability are not uncommon after major, invasive surgeries. Hence, high doses of pain and anxiety meds post-op, until the worst has passed. Been there, done that...with spinal surgery.
