Spoilers - Was it worth it?

Michael lost his mom and brother largely b/c he refused to accept being burned and wanted to clear his name and get back in the CIA. He cleared his name, but the CIA still disliked him, he never quite got back in, and he lost his family in the process. He was also betrayed by his mentor, whom he had looked to as a father figure.

Was it worth it? Should he have just accepted being burned, taken the security guard job he was offered early on or just kept doing his 'helping people job,' and stopped pushing the envelope? Carla accepted it, Victor accepted it (for a while). Why not Michael?

He had Fiona and Charlie in the end, but lost his mother, brother, and two good friends (assuming he didn't see Sam and Jesse again), and everyone thinks he's dead.

He would have never been "left alone" as the security guard. His past would keep haunnting him regardless. I feel like the message was the only way to truly get out of the kinda life he lived is to die or prison. He did unlike the names you mentioned, Carla and Victor, and survived his death. Even Larry had to "die" to live his life.

Carla was the one who got him burned so she could use him to do her black ops. If he would have said no to anything she would have taken out his family. When she was gone others popped up threatening to do the same if he didn't do what they said. So, the idea of him living anonymously as a security guard would have been impossible even if he wanted to.

Except that eventually he got everyone but Anson, but just couldn't let it go. He got Anson and Nate got killed. Then Maddie dies to save her son. Certainly mid-way through the show, I think Michael could have continued his 'almost back in the CIA' role and his sidejobs with his pals.

I totally agree. I think the real mistake was when he didn't let Fi take out Anson.

Actually, the real mistake was the last two seasons. They destroyed one of my favorite shows of all time by getting too serious.

i didn't understand why Mikey didn't just snap Anson's neck in the loft when Anson said "i am the last one"...

i think i would have.

grrrrr that always bothered me.....lol

i was yelling at the screen just snap his neck, Mikey!!! just snap it good!

All I want to know is if Fi burned her hair extensions in the jump.

Great ending I feel.

... End of line.

Even though it's just a show Michael couldn't predict what was/is going to happen. There were to many to count of who actually burned him. Just you thought it was this person it turns out it was someone else. And I would've rather been by myself instead of the nymphomaniac who always hitting him and wishing he'd get hurt. She was nothing but an annoying pain in the Ass. And Sam knew Mike was/ is still alive. And if you remember in the beginning Michael saying that he wanted out of Florida as quuck as possible cause he didn't want to be near his family. This will open the door for future projects.
