Didn't like the ending, and Sonya was hotter

I finally got around to watching this whole series. Gotta say, I liked the idea of Michael joining Sonya, and it sucked to see her die. Liked her better than Fiona. I was also annoyed at how Michael didn't just come out and tell Sam/Fi that James was giving himself up to save them.

I was looking for people's response to the show. I didn't like the last season overall. I found parts of it a bit hard to believe. Also, the tonal change felt abrupt. I watched the show when it was live airing... or OnDemand. I alway found that last season to be the most challenging to get through, mainly because the characters and the story wasn't nearly as engaging. I kind of feel like the season before was where it kind of should have ended.

I thought it was a show that started great and went downhill a little with each half season.

I would have preferred the show ending when Michael walked back into CIA headquarters in Langley.

Agreed, season 7 is a lot worse than the rest of the show. I think they could have easily ended it after Anson gets killed

Oh my!!i just discovered this show by a happy accident and just finished the last show ladt night.! The character of Fi was wonderful to me. What a strong female lead. She was not a damsel in distress and could hold her own!!. As I reviewer said about her charcter " her love for Micheal moved her but did not overwhelm her"and that is one of the reasons season 7 was so hard to watch they totalky abandoned who she was for most of the season. Granted the beginning I could see, but they had plenty of chances to fix that early in the season. Feel so cheated on how they handled the last season. I understand going serious and it needed to, but the direction and storyline was so wrong! They really did a diservice to fhe fans and to themselves. It did redeem itself in the final epsiode to some degree,

I agree with you, I liked the idea of Michael joining Sonya as well. I was kinda disappointed how she was killed off considering all that development between she and Michael. However, I still liked how Michael ended up with Fi at the end. Also, I feel like if Michael would've just explained what James was doing for them, maybe Fi, Sam and Jesse would've accepted it, then everything would've ended up perfect in the end. Until the CIA found out about Michael running the organization that he supposedly took down lol. That could've made for a good season 8 at least :D Plus Sonya would've gotten to live a while longer and then they could've brought everything together by then end of season 8. Now that I'm thinking of it, it actually would've worked out much better this way haha. Regardless, I still enjoyed the show overall.

James was a great villain. Wish he had a bigger role though. It was rushed. Michael is the ultimate spy. Even with all that torture they never broke him.

The overall last season was so hard to watch.I thought there was too much of characters we did mot know and definitely not enough of our favorite. Will never know what the creator producers and writers were thinking with the last season.

SPOILER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE ENTIRE SERIES

This show was great, enjoyed watching it during the series run and in re-runs these days. Michael {Jeffrey Donovan} was excellent as the driver and conscience of the show/team. My complaint with the series end was the death of Madeline {Sharon Gless}. Granted, it was an epic death and Sharon Gless played it to the hilt! To me, Jesse {Coby Bell} was the weakest character but he eventually became an integral member of the team. Fi {Gabrielle Anwar} was smart/sexy/tough and Sam {Bruce Campbell} was a joy to watch in his machinations. The guest characters were excellently developed and performed. I miss this show. Pure entertainment with a conscience.

IMO: Despite my liking Sonya {Alona Tal}, Fi and Michael belonged together...any other relationship would not have lasted.

I just finished this show on Netflix!! It was a great show. I loved it all but the last season. While I understand going darker and more serious tone, the manner in which they did left me somewhat disappointed. They could have gone darker but kept the team together. Changing the core of who the characters were on the last season seemed kind of wrong to me. However the ending was perfect. Anything else would have been a terrible injustice to the show. Micheal and Fi belonged together. Their relationship was always a central theme to the show. Sonya brought out all the bad in Micheal, while Fi was his moral compass.
Given what is going on today in the world how relevant would this show be now!! I would love to see it come back in some sort of form, dealing with today's issues. Maybe a limited series, such as OJ Simpson story, but in the vein of the first six seasons, not the last one.
It was mostly a critical and commercial success. Not to many shows do what this show did. As the comment said above said entertainment with a conscience is a right!
