Bruce Campbell
For a long time I hated him, after all The Evil Dead movies, I would pass on anything with him.
I am utterly surprised by his comic timing and depth. He has grown on me.

he was absolutely perfect for this role, i had not seen the evil dead movies, but i had seen him in earlier things and enjoyed that.
i am glad you gave the series a chance, it is my AL TIME favorite series!
Burn Notice was such a fun show. Bruce Campbell has always been a favorite since the evil dead movies and Brisco County Jr. Burn Notice is Bruce as a really solid actor, and it's carried over to Ash vs evil dead.
shareHis schtick definitely grew on me as the series went on. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which I enjoyed.
shareI had never seen him in anything and fell in live with him as the series went on. Not a scfi or horror fan so I had no idea who he was. As with anything related to the last season it was a shame there was not more of him.
shareHe was the central reason why I gave this show a chance. I was not a fan of MacGyver, or James Bond or most spy movies. But I wanted to check out Bruce in non cheesy sci-fi role and he hit a home run. But there's not much Bruce does I don't enjoy.
You know spies, bunch of bitchy little girls. Afterthat quote Bruce Campbell sold Same Axe as the man.

Is this Idaho? Because I will not limbo in Idaho.
One aspect of Bruce's portrayal of "Sam" that didn't really hit me until I binge watched Seasons 1-5 for the third time was that, despite his general flakiness, he was actually the conscience of the show (as was Fiona to a lesser extent).
The first example of many that come to mind was when he stopped Michael from executing Tyler Gray.
