How bad is the violence?

I have a fairly good tolerance for violence, I've seen such pictures as Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Straw Dogs, A History of Violence and a few others. I'm not someone who enjoys violence, but I put up with it if it is not gratuitus and if it has a point.

I am also a great Ang Lee fan, so I would really like to see this film.

How violent is it? On a scale of 1-10 where would you rank it?

Thank you for any help.

Last film seen: Monster 9/10

*slight spoilers*

There is only one violent scene in which a guy is stabbed multiple times. The scene is intense and may be hard to watch by some.

*spoilers*

There is also some sexual violence - not extreme I suppose but I'm not a woman.

The killing is prolonged as it is done by amateurs - it is very disturbing.

The murder in this movie filmed with integrity, insofar as that it isn't made to look as 'something you do every day', as it is in most action films. The characters present are all decidedly upset, making it an intense scene, but also one that leaves the message that murder isn't as exciting and 'easy' as shown in, say, your average James Bond movie.

Oh, and btw, since you've seen Old Boy, you're safe. Lust, Caution isn't nearly as disturbing as that.
