The chronology -- I'm confused ...

At around 1:11:00, right after Tsao is killed, we begin a new section which is subtitled:

SHANGHAI
THREE YEARS LATER

This would put us back in '41 or '42, right?

Wong (Mak Tai Tai) is now living in the Yee house. Mrs. Yee is going to play mahjong with someone and has given Mak Tai Tai permission to go to the movies.

A car pulls up and the driver looks to me to be TSAO!!!

But he was murdered three years ago, wasn't he? Is that someone who just looks a lot like Tsao? It's raining, but -- to me -- it clearly looks like Tsao.

Which really screws up the chronology, doesn't it?

I've rewound this so many times. I'm sure it's Tsao! What's up? Am I missing something?

No, it wasn't Tsao, and yes that would screw up the chronology if it were the case. Why would you think that driver is Tsao? He doesn't look anything like him.
