Soldiers in background - helmets

In the outdoor scenes as the army is marching and driving by in trucks, some of the soldiers in the trucks look like they're wearing German WWII style helmets. Is this what was actually used, are they a Chinese copy perhaps or did the filmakers just not bother for realism there?

Very good movie by the way.

I don't know if the helmets are authentic, but they might be. Before the Sino-Japanese War, the Germans trained the Chinese army to be a bulwark against Mao's Communists.
