why let the baby sleep alone....

The first and the most disturbing thing to me was letting a baby (new born) sleep in another room ..i mean why dont they keep the baby in their own bedroom...the kid was hardly a few days old..it could have atleast prevented the crying of the baby atleat coz the reason for the baby's cry was evidently clear tht it was joshua's attempt..

I agree!

This bothered me too, but it showed how detached this mother was from her infant. I kept wanting to knock some sense into the mom. Babies aren't little dolls that coo and laugh and sit docilely in their baby seat all day and sleep all night in a crib. In fact, a baby sleeping in a crib is at far greater risk of SIDS (crib death).
This mother wanted a baby she could admire from afar. A baby who cries is a BAD baby. This lack of love, closeness, and touch in that household is what screwed up Joshua. He grew up being antisocial and detached, the way most psychopaths are. A baby, crying in it's crib alone for hours at a time, no one responding, will soon stop crying out for help- and will be scarred psychologically for sure. Sometimes babies just cry- nothing you can do will make them stop- but they need to be held while they're crying, they need to feel and know that they're loved.

I have a baby, he sleeps in a crib in another room, am i a horrible mother? this post is ridiculous and judgemental and unrealistic. if we shared a room neither of us would get any sleep, if i made a noise he'd wake up, if he made a noise i'd wake up. its easy to say that if your baby cries and cries all the time you should cuddle and hold it but i'm guessing you've never been through that personally. if all your baby did was cry it might drive you a little crazy too

my boyfriend said the same thing.. "why is she in another room"
and then I reminded him that only two weeks of having our daughter. she kept sleeping through the night so I decided to put her in her crib, since she didn't wake up anymore and fed just fine.. and I slept better ever since.

having her next to me drove me crazy. I would check on her non stop and not sleep.
